The Gospel of Matthew
Here is a brief description about the first book in the New Testament.
The Gospel of Matthew, tells the good news that Jesus is the promised Savior, through whom God fulfilled the promises he made in the Old Testament. This good news is for the whole world.
Matthew begins with the birth of Jesus, goes on to describe his baptism and temptation, and then takes up his ministry of preaching, teaching and healing in Galilee. After this the gospel records Jesus' journey to Jerusalem and the events of his last week, culminating in his crucifixion and subsequent resurrection.
The Gospel of Matthew, presents Jesus as the great Teacher, who has the authority to interpret the Law of God and who teaches about God's kingdom, which is quoted as the kingdom of heaven. This can be seen throughout the book, as it chronicles the Sermon on the Mount, the various Parables about the kingdom of heaven, Teaching on the meaning of discipleship and also about the end of the present age and the coming of the kingdom of heaven.
With this in your mind, I suggest you read and follow along. See you in the next post! Take care of yourself and each other!
