Grace upon Grace
Hello! Merry Christmas! May joy, peace, comfort and good tidings rest in you!
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7
O! How great is it that the LORD sent his only son into this world to give us eternal and everlasting peace and joy!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
And to have such love, mercy and grace bestowed upon us when we were still sinners - nothing we do can ever amount to a repayment of this abundant goodness and kindness.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10
But the best we can do is to love Him with all our heart, follow his instructions and remember all the goodness He has done for us. Then, to do to others, what we so graciously received.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 6:4-7
May we be made worthy of the grace upon grace bestowed upon us through faith in Jesus Christ. May the gift of God guide us to the promised eternal life. May we share love and kindness with everyone we see, meet and have in our lives. Such that we be good workmen and emissaries of God to spread good works throughout our time. Merry Christmas!
